After the icecaps melted and flooded greater parts of the planet’s agricultural areas, Danish scientist Anna Tranenberg and her team are on her way to Svalbard, looking for a treasure, that might change not only the fate of the United Nordic Nations, but end the worlds hunger crisis, now that the remaining members of mankind are trying to rebuild what was lost, not only in the flood, but in the wars that followed.

-North- is a science fiction short story about regaining what was lost in humanity’s race against the climate changes, as well as the insignificance of mankind in the vast wilderness, that is the North.

It is being published in late 2020/early 2021, in Danish, by https://sciencefiction.dk as a part of a climate anthology.

This story is a testament to work being done by Svalbard Global Seed Bank.
